There was rumor that we wouldn’t see a 2025 Cadillac XT5. Then, there were whispers it wouldn’t be released for a while. Luckily all that chatter turned out to be false about this SUV. The Cadillac XT5 is available today, and it’s better than ever!
There are few updates to the XT5 for the new model year: This year there are only three trim levels—the Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. The Platinum Package has been discontinued, with some of its features now offered as standalone options or smaller packages. Night vision is no longer offered nor is the Premium Luxury trim’s adaptive suspension feature.
You have two engine choices with the 2025 Cadillac XT5—the standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine generating 235 horsepower, or if you need more get up and go, a V6 engine that is an option on the Premium Luxury trim and is standard on the Sport trim. It generates 310 ponies.
The Sport trim is geared toward more trail time and features a heavy-duty cooling system, all-wheel drive with twin-clutch and active yaw control, damping suspension in real-time, and Brembo performance brakes upfront.
Front-wheel-drive XT5s with the turbocharged four-cylinder get 22 mpg/city, 29 mpg/highway, and 24 mpg overall. With the V-6, mileage drops slightly to 19 mpg/city, 26 mpg/highway, and 21 mpg combined. All-wheel drive lowers these numbers even further in both instances.
Cadillac has thought of just about everything when it comes to setting a mood in the XT5. Soothing accent lighting makes you feel instantly relaxed, as does plush seating covered in Intelux or leather, depending on the trim.
Also included are the following features and options to make your time in the cab all the more enjoyable:
All XT5 models feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. GMC’s CUE infotainment system also includes a rotary controller and voice recognition, and a Wi-Fi hotspot keeps you connected; four USB ports around the cabin keep your devices charged. Premium Luxury and Sport trims have embedded navigation and a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system as standard.
As of this writing, the 2025 XT5 is ready to roll, but we’re not certain of its future. There have been hints the Cadillac has considered discontinuing this fine SUV, so the time to get into a new one is now. If you have more questions about what the XT5 has to offer, we’re available to answer them. Stop by the showroom today and make sure to take a test drive!
