There are a few new things in store for the 2022 Acadia:
- GMC Pro Safety Plus package now standard
- Base SL model discontinued
- 2.5L four-cylinder engine discontinued
The newly standard GMC Pro Safety Plus package is an all-inclusive suite of safety aids. It includes frontal collision mitigation and front and rear parking sensors to help you avoid nasty dust-ups. There are two engines available for the 2022 Acadia:

- 3.6L V6 engine (310 hp, 271 lb-ft)
The base SLE and mid-grade SLT feature the turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Not only does this option give you lots of power, but it also gives you the best EPA ratings, helping the Acadia earn up to 25 mpg combined (22 city/29 highway).
Both engines are paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. However, if you want to maximize your Acadia’s capabilities, check out the AT4 and Denali models, which come standard with the 310-horsepower V6. With this engine and the proper equipment, the Acadia also tows max ratings of up to 4,000 pounds.
