The CT6 is a full-size luxury sedan manufactured by Cadillac, and was introduced for the 2016 model year as a RWD-based flagship sedan for Cadillac.

2016-2019

The 2016 Cadillac CT6 large luxury sedan is available in four main trim levels: base, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Platinum; and it is priced to compete against the luxury midsize crowd. Prices will range from $40,000 to $60,000 depending on the year and model. The interior is luxurious and roomy, but cabin storage is a bit small.. At 15.3 cubic feet, the CT6’s trunk is undersized for its class. It seats five people, with available massaging and power-reclining heated rear seats. The front seats are spacious and comfortable and the rear seats have plenty of space.

The CT6 includes:

  • 18-inch wheels (19 inch with all-wheel drive)
  • front and rear parking sensors
  • LED headlights and taillights
  • heated mirrors
  • a power-tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel
  • auto-dimming mirror
  • leather upholstery
  • eight-way power front seats, with a two-way power lumbar
  • driver memory settings
  • dual-zone automatic climate control

Standard technology includes:

  • GM’s Onstar system, with 4G LTE connection and Wi-Fi hotspot capability
  • Bluetooth
  • 10.2-inch touchscreen with Cadillac’s CUE interface
  • Apple CarPlay smartphone integration
  • rearview camera
  • voice controls
  • four USB ports and wireless charging
  • eight-speaker sound system with satellite radio and three audio USB ports.

It was initially available with a choice of three engines: a four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo, and two V6 engines – a 3.6-liter and a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged, offering 404 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard on four-cylinder models and all-wheel drive is standard on six-cylinder models.

For 2017, Cadillac added a plug-in hybrid model to the lineup, and in 2018, it introduced the available Super Cruise semiautonomous driving system.

2018 Cadillac CT6

A refreshed exterior and a standard four-cylinder engine, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission came for the 2019 model year. Midyear, Cadillac discontinued the four-cylinder engine. Cadillac also introduced the performance-oriented CT6-V model and discontinued the plug-in hybrid. A 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 500 hp in the Platinum trim and 550 hp in the CT6-V model is available.

2020

The CT6 is on its way out; therefore, it is simplified for this model year. The Turbocharged four- and six-cylinder engines have been discontinued. There are just two engines to choose from – the 3.6-liter V6 or turbocharged 4.2-liter V8. There are also just three trim levels. Features such as Super Cruise, a semi-automated driver assistance system, is now standard on all but the base trim. The CT6 delivers an estimated 18/27 mpg city/highway.
