Engineered to deliver a capable performance that provides a smooth ride, even when trailering, the 2020 GMC Yukon helps you drive with confidence and control. The 2020 Hyundai Palisade is a midsize SUV to compare, but let’s look at Yukon’s full-size SUV features and you can make the choice. Come to Reliable Buick GMC to see for yourself.

Design and Power

The 2020 GMC Yukon features eye-catching styling and high-end materials. The standard Yukon seats eight comfortably, but with an available front bench seat, it will seat nine. The optional second-row captain’s chairs offer seating for seven. It comes with cloth upholstery and plenty of available comforts including, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated second-row seats, power-folding second-and third-row seats, and power-retractable steps. You can choose from two powertrains: The base engine is a 4.3-liter V8 that produces 355 hp and 383 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed automatic transmission. An optional powertrain is a 6.2-liter V8 that makes 420 pound-feet of torque and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Yukon offers 15.3 cubic feet of space behind the third row, 51.7 cubic feet behind the second row, and 94.7 cubic feet with both rear seats folded down. It has an impressive maximum trailering weight of 8,500 pounds when properly equipped.

2020 GMC Yukon Interior

The Palisade comes with a 291-horsepower 3.8-liter V6 engine that's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain is responsive, but acceleration isn’t as swift. Similar to its powertrain, this SUV's handling isn't very exciting and is similar to a smaller crossover SUV. The Palisade can seat seven or eight people, depending on the trim. The second row features a bench seat or an optional set of captain's chairs. The Palisade boasts 18 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 45.8 cubic feet behind the second row, and up to 86.4 cubic feet with all rear seats folded down, but it’s not quite what the Yukon offers. A properly equipped Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Safety and Tech Features

2020 GMC Yukon Technology

The Yukon features plenty of easy-to-use cabin technology. It comes standard with an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a nine-speaker Bose sound system, five USB ports, Bluetooth, voice recognition, satellite radio, HD Radio, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. It carries driver assistance technology that comes standard including a rearview camera, front and rear parking sensors, and the Teen Driver System. Available safety features include forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

Hyundai Palisade also offers an assortment of modern technology. Every model comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and USB ports throughout the cabin. Standard safety features in the Palisade include forward collision warning, forward automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, a rear occupant alert, lane keep assist, lane centering assist, driver attention monitoring, Smart Cruise Control, a rearview camera, and rear parking sensors.

Price and Fuel Economy

The Yukon offers four available trims. The base SLE starting price is $50,600 and ranges to $67,700 for the top-of-the-line Denali. With its base engine and rear-wheel drive, the Yukon gets an estimated 15/22 mpg in the city and on the highway.

The Palisade’s three trim levels start out at $31,775 for Palisade SE and range to $41,775 for the Palisade Limited. The front-wheel Palisade gets 19/26 mpg in the city and on the highway.
