The 2020 Cadillac XT5 is a luxury midsize SUV with a high predicted reliability rating and a long list of tech and safety features. The XT5 will not disappoint with its plush seats, comfortable ride, and some great changes for the 2020 model year. Let’s compare it to the 2020 Audi Q5 and you can make your choice. Stop by Reliable Cadillac and take a ride.

Design

The Cadillac XT5 is full of luxury in this midsize SUV, and it is one of Cadillac’s best-selling models. For the 2020 model year it has made some notable changes, such as improved quality and design and heated front seats. It seats five comfortably, with a good amount of legroom in both rows. It also comes standard with power-adjustable front seats, sliding and reclining back seats, synthetic leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a power tilting-and-telescoping steering wheel. There is 30.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 63 cubic feet with the seats folded down.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Interior

The Audi Q5 features two rows of seating for five people, with enough head- and legroom. The middle rear seat may be awkward to sit with its raised floor in the front of the seat. It offers some premium interior materials, with leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats. Some available options include ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and Alcantara leather upholstery. Its cargo hold is less than the XT5, with 25.1 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back row and 53.1 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down.

Power, Towing and Price

The 3.6L V6 engine, available on Premium Luxury and standard on Sport trim, is designed to stand out with 310 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission delivers a smooth ride with timely shifts. The base engine gets an impressive 21/28 mpg in the city and on the highway. The V6 models will give you 18/26 mpg city/highway. There is an option of three trims to choose: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Sport. The starting price for the Luxury is $44,095 and ranges to $55,095 for Sport’s starting price.

The Q5 delivers a good amount of performance, with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 248 horsepower. A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is paired with this engine. A high performance SQ5 engine features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that produces 349 horsepower with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Q5 offers three trims: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. It gets an estimated 22/28 mpg in the city and on the highway and has a starting price of $43,300 for the Premium trim and ranges to a starting price of $62,150 for the top-trim SQ5 Prestige.

Safety, Technology

The XT5 offers an all-new infotainment system for 2020. The CUE infotainment system comes with an 8-inch touch screen, voice recognition, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hot spot, four USB ports, and an eight-speaker Bose stereo. It is standard with a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, front pedestrian braking, forward collision alert, a following distance indicator, and front and rear park assist. The XT5 offers plenty of available features for added comfort and safety, such as lane change alert, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera system, automatic park assist, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

2020 Cadillac XT5 Technology

The Q5 features an infotainment system with a 7-inch display and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 10-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, and HD Radio. You will need to add the available MMI All-In-Touch system to include a touch-screen functionality. There are a few standard safety features including a rearview camera, Audi Pre Sense City that makes drivers aware of pedestrians, and Audi Pre Sense Basic that detects a collision. Some added active safety options include blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, traffic jam assist, and adaptive cruise control.

Overall

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 stands up to the Audi Q5. They are similar in many ways, but you’ll have to jump up in price to get Audi’s SQ5 Prestige power. Cadillac’s great rating and bundle of safety and tech features, along with its style, luxury, and class will help you make your choice. Come see for yourself at Reliable Cadillac.
